Barska Rifle Scopes

Based in California, Barska Optics has been producing sporting related optical products since 1994. Like many optical manufacturers, Barksa produces a full line of rifle scopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, and telescopes. At the time of this writing, Barska was not producing any pistol scopes or rangefinders. The Barska scopes line includes a number of different models that include nearly every possible shooting application including air rifles, military and LEO, tactical and long range shooting, and hunting. Barska rifle scopes also come in a variety of different reticle options.

Barska scopes offer a good value for the money and come with a lifetime warranty. If you take the time to do some internet research, you will find some good and bad reviews of various Barska scopes. For this reason, Barska appears to have somehow developed a reputation as a "cheap" or budget brand of scope. Having owned and tested a number of different Barska scope models, here are my thoughts:

Just like anything in life everyone has a unique perspective on just about everything. With that being said, some people in various forums seem to have had poor experiences with Barska scopes, while others sing their praises. I found that I definitely preferred some Barska models over others. For example, I had the chance to shoot a 17 HMR rifle equipped with a Barska Huntmaster Pro in a 3x12x50IR configuration. I really didn"t care for it. Why? Because I don"t like rifle scopes with illuminated reticles and this model was an IR model. In my humble opinion, the illumination set-up adds unnecessary weight. The illuminated model I shot weighed 21.34 ounces while a non-illuminated model only weighs 19 ounces. I know that 2.3 ounces isn"t alot a weight, but it starts to add up after you"ve been carrying a rifle for 4 or 5 hours.

I happen to own a Varmint Barska rifle scope in a 4x16x40 that was the first Barska scope I ever purchased. I paid $59.00 for it about 3 years ago, and it"s been the best scope I"ve ever owned in that price range. It holds zero year after year, and works very well for it"s intended purpose. I mounted it on a Ruger 10-22 that I use for squirrel hunting. Is it as good as a Nikon Monarch or Leupold VX-3? No, but it didn"t cost anywhere near that either.

ATN Scopes

American Technologies Network (better known as ATN) is an American optics company, which was formed in 1995.  Based in the San Francisco, CA, ATN produces a number of products designed to aid sight or provide illumination.  These include night vision and thermal imaging devices, goggles, tactical flashlights sniper equipment, and the ATN rifle scopes.  ATN equip government law enforcement professionals via a service contract with the General Services Administration (or GSA), a division of the United States government that supplies and oversees government properties.  ATN rifle scopes are a top choice among many other types of law enforcement and peacekeeping professionals.

About ATN Rifle Scopes

ATN rifle scopes are generally regarded as being quality high-end  optics equipment, and the company has received the glowing reviews to match.  Positive reviews of ATN equipment have been featured in a number of prominent magazines dealing with hunting, law enforcement or firearms; these include Guns & Ammo, Gun World, Tactical Response and S.W.A.T..  Despite their high-quality classification and wide range of products, ATN rifle scopes also regarded as a budget-friendly brand for optics equipment.  The ATN rifle scopes line tend to cost considerably less than those of competitors such as Leupold and Bushnell.

ATN Rifle Scope Features

This company is known for its innovations in night vision in other technologies.  One of ATN"s product features is Smart Total Darkness Technology.  This feature uses an infrared illuminator, digital controls and a computerized proximity sensor to help streamline the night vision experience.  The onboard computer in the Smart system detects when the scope is being used, automatically turning itself on and off.  The device features an LED indicator which pulsates when the batteries get low, as well as a multicolored LED system to help users quickly note which  of the device"s modes they"re using.

ATN rifle scopes also use proprietary coatings, namely Everlight and Proshield, on their lenses.  The Everlight lens coatings help to provide clear images through multiple light variations, even in the event that there is too much light.  Proshield lens coatings contain materials designed to combat condensation, scratches, glare and static.  Another of ATN"s technologies is their trademark ATN White Phosphor Technology (or WPT).  This relies on black and white coloration in night vision equipment, rather than the traditional green.  This different coloration helps details appear sharper, provides better contrast and shading and helps increase wearers" depth perception.

ATN rifle scopes provide customers with several bonus features upon purchase.  First and foremost, most products come packaged in sturdy hard cases, which the company states have a $150 retail value.  These cases are unbreakable, airtight, inlaid with thick protective foam, corrosion proof and designed to meet military specifications.  Those ATN rifle scopes that don"t come with a hard case receive a ballistic nylon case for storage or carrying instead.  ATN rifle scopes ship with an instruction manual, any necessary hardware or batteries, and/or gift boxes.  ATN provide a free copy of an informative video featuring night vision scenes with all purchases, and keep experts on hand to offer advice and troubleshooting assistance.  ATN also features a 2-year extended warranty.

Here are some ATN rifle scopes that are ready to ship:
